چکیده

Wheel slip is inevitable when a Wheeled Mobile Robot (WMR) is moving at a high speed or on a slippery surface. In particular, when neither lateral nor longitudinal slips can be ignored in the dynamic model, a WMR becomes an underactuated nonlinear dynamic system. To study the maneuverability of a WMR in such a realistic environment, we model the overall WMR dynamics subject to wheel slip and propose control algorithms in regulation control and turning control tasks for the WMR. In regulation control, a timeinvariant discontinuous feedback law is developed to asymptotically stabilize the system to the desired configuration with exponential convergence rate. In turning control, a sliding mode-based extremum seeking control technique is applied to achieve stable and sharp turning. Simulation results are presented to validate the theoretical results.

Non-Singular Terminal Sliding Mode Control of a Nonholonomic Wheeled Mobile Robots Using Fuzzy Based Tyre Force Estimator

This paper, proposes a methodology to implement a suitable nonsingular terminal sliding mode controller associated with the output feedback control to achieve a successful trajectory tracking of a non-holonomic wheeled mobile robot in presence of longitudinal and lateral slip accompanied. This implementation offers a relatively faster and high precision tracking performance. We investigate this...

Game-based pursuit evasion for nonholonomic wheeled mobile robots subject to wheel slips

Pursuit Evasion (P-E) problem has been studied as a non-cooperative zero-sum game in Homicidal Chauffer problem [1] in 1960s and in the game of two identical cars [2] most recently. The capture conditions in the two games, which govern the capture behavior, can be determined by solving Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs (HJI) equations. However, the existing game theoretic solution does not consider wheel ...

A Novel Multimode Mobile Robot with Adaptable Wheel Geometry for Maneuverability Improvement

In this paper, an innovative mobile platform is presented which is equipped by three new wheels. The core of the new idea is to establish a new design of rigid circular structure which can be implemented as a wheel by variable radius. The structure of wheel includes a circular pattern of a simple two-link mechanism assembled to obtain a wheel shape. Each wheel has two degrees of freedom. The fi...

Fuzzy Vector Field Orientation Feedback Control-Based Slip Compensation for Trajectory Tracking Control of a Four Track Wheel Skid-Steered Mobile Robot

Skid‐steered mobile robots have been widely used in exploring unknown environments and in military applications. In this paper, the tuning fuzzy Vector Field Orientation (FVFO) feedback control method is proposed for a four track wheel skid‐steered mobile robot (4‐TW SSMR) using flexible fuzzy logic control (FLC). The extended Kalman filter is utilized to e...

Traction Control of a Six-wheel Robot using Wheel Slip Dynamics

A method for kinematics modeling of a six-wheel Rocker-Bogie mobile robot is described in detail. The forward kinematics is derived by using wheel Jacobian matrices in conjunction with wheel-ground contact angle estimation. Te inverse kinematics is to obtain the wheel velocities and steering angles from the desired forward velocity and turning rate of the robot. Traction Control also developed ...
